Someone needs to bully me into working with polymer clay again so I can finally finish this fairy piece!

(Let’s pretend it hasn’t been 10 months since my last post)🫡
Been working with a new material lately! ✨Paper clay✨, I’ve been using egg cartons but am looking to try other recycled fibers with time!
This clay dries SO DURABLE and pretty light in comparison to something like polymer clay in the same scale. Very geeked for the sculpting possibilities with a material that only cost me my time(if you don’t count the $21 it cost currently to buy a 60 count of eggs🗑️🔥).

I’ve actually been so creative and working on so many things. I’m just so terrible at the social media aspects of things. I can’t wait to share more updates in this coming new year and post more detailed photos of all the little lovelies I’ve been whipping up in my free time!

These right here are avacodo pit necklaces…
To say I’m obsessed with creating these right now would be an understatement!
These are my first four that I’ve finished carving, sanding, and oiling!
The whole process takes about three weeks as you wait for the seeds to go through various stages of drying. My favorite thing about these? The stones are inlaid with ZERO glue! 😱
The way the avocado shrinks around the stones creates a natural sturdy seal!
I have about 20 more pieces currently all in different stages. So many pendants coming y’all’s way

Super excited about this experiment!! 🥑✨ My girlfriend asked if I thought I could make a planchette for her friend and ✨naturally✨ my brain was like AVoCadO pIT 👁️👄👁️ Here’s to hoping and praying that as it shrinks that I left enough space inside for the glass and that nothing splits! Which is a problem that can occur with any inlay, let alone such an invasive one! If your as intrigued by the project as I am then definitely expect an update on this wether it’s a success or breaks my heart! (But fingers crossed this turns out to be the dopest planchette ever!🤞🏻😮‍💨) . Also peep the book! Highly recommend.
