Interesting find this week...

Opa Red Ration tokens.

What were ration tokens used for?
In 1944, during WWII... Food. There were red tokens for meat and blue tokens for canned goods.

Ration tokens were used for a short time during World War II to make change for ration coupons. Both types were introduced by the Office of Price Administration on February 27, 1944; the red tokens were discontinued by December 1944.
