The Sculptures In The Sky Kite Festival has been cancelled this year. Despite a hugely successful 6+ years of flying kites and picnicking with families, attracting a more diverse population each year, the Sculpture Fields@has decided not to continue. 😟🪁what do you think?

Has anyone ever seen a kite like this one? It is made with 1 - 8.5x11” sheet of paper plus “broom” grass which grows wild all over the southeast. Bridle is attached to the kite in the four corners which connect at the tow point. I think a three-point bridle would work as well attached to two top corners and the middle. A good friend, Anthony Crutcher, showed this to me and he was taught by his father when he was a kid.

Well, I got a kite stuck in a tree yesterday. Really irks me. I haven’t lost a kite in a tree in decades. This one is one I made, a Cody kite that flew wonderfully. Its bridle legs dropped ove a tall branch at the top of a large pin oak tree.
One pic shows me trying to lift it off the branch using an Eddy kite. Just wasn’t enough wind but today the winds are stronger. Unfortunately, the string broke yesterday so I can’t use that to guide the carabiner up to the kite.
Any suggestions?

In my store I sold boomerangs and tops, and I thought about selling marbles, but this video news story takes it to a whole new level.

Hey, hey, hey! I saw him; he was working. Go Dylan!
