Had our last show for the year last weekend. It has been the best ever so I am working hard to get things done for the shop. Filling orders and getting things ready for pick up. But, I had a request that was fun so I am sharing it with all my Facebook friends. If you are giving a special someone a bottle of wine, we have the perfect accessory. And we can personalize it as well. Hope you all are enjoying the season and have a safe and happy holiday. 😍Shirley

The newest project for this year…had to get into the Barbie frenzy. This is a 2 piece ornament to use as a frame for your own special ‘doll’. Can be personalized and dated. If you have a photo to commemorate the night out, this would be perfect to save them. Just got a box of wood so I will be busy for awhile. Leaving next weekend for St. Charles, Mo. for the Festival of Little Hills, we are excited to see all our faithful customers and friends. It’s. bootiful day in downtown Chillicothe. Hard to believe that the year is half over. I’ve been working hard on new designs for 2023. Today I’m looking forward to Halloween and these projects came off the paint table. Hope you are all having a great year so far. So Easter is over, the bunny is getting a much needed nap. But we are not napping at Covered Wagon Crafts. Sitting at the paint table with Christmas on my mind. Getting ready for the Pekin Marigold Festival, looking forward to seeing all our friends and customers. One of our favorite shows. Lots of great handcrafted booths. Today I made ‘cookies’ to go on our cookie jar ornament, this one is special because we can make it for Nana, Granny or anything that you call your grandmother. If you add a magnet to the back it can be placed on your refrigerator and enjoyed all year round. Plenty of room for lots of grands. We ran out at the last show so we have been busy trying to catch up. Now I need to work on pickle jars, LOL. Thanks for all the shares, lots of new friends. I love my job. ❤️Shirley

The hottest day of the year, I am at the paint table trying to stay cool. So what’s cooler than a Minion? Getting excited about shows this year, seeing all our travel friends. We will be in St. Charles, Mo. August 18,20 and 21 for the Festival of the Little Hills. Lots of new products, all handcrafted here in Illinois. Seeing all the back to school stuff on the shelves has me thinking of all the teachers getting ready to go back. Such a challenge to face a whole new class every year. All new personalities and skills to deal with not to mention the parents. With them in mind my paint table is full of new and old designs to honor these brave souls. This is just a sample of what I have come up with and they can all be personalized and dated. The last 2 days have gone to the dogs, we personalize more ornaments for pets than anything else. So I spent this week working on dogs, these are all one of a kind pieces, I sketch them at night and paint them the next day. They are just what comes off my pencil. This is my happy place. It’s July already and where did June go? Getting ready to hit the road to see all our friends at festivals and shows for fall. July marks 40 years in downtown Chillicothe, this is my happy place. I still love coming to work every day. Thanks to everyone who has made this happen. Christmas is sneaking up on us and so in order to keep up I am working on gingerbread ornaments today. They are calorie free and will last a lifetime. These are special cause we can include all the family or make it grandma’s favorite. New product for the holiday that is rapidly approaching. Lots of new ideas and we are so ready to celebrate each day. A big weekend in Chillicothe, the Brad Wallin Memorial Tournament will bring in hundreds of baseball teams from all over Illinois to celebrate the life of a young warrior taken too soon. All the proceeds go to St. Jude to fund research to beat this horrific disease. Watching all these young healthy athletes come together to have fun and at the same time help make a difference for others is such a gift. Proud to be from Chillicothe, a small town with big heart.
