Howdy partners...we are open and ready to dazzle you with the artistic works of your community seniors...from whimsy to wonder since 1978...a forgotten community enlivened via this program of the Assistance League of Albuquerque. Wed-Sat 11-4 and
Sunday 1-4...artist intake every Monday. Amazing moderate prices and as a nonprofit program (meaning the artists receive 100% of the price) there is no sales tax. Hope to see you soon.

March 1 Blue Portal reopens for 2025. Another short sneak peek at the wonderful array of creative work that awaits you. We will have Cindy Alford introducing you to her affordable jewelry on our portal and visiting with you-she is a delight. We are thrilled to be open again and hope to see you soon and often. Thanks for the Assistance League of Albuquerque for creating this program for seniors in 1978. Our hours are Wed-Sat 11-4 and Sunday 1-4.

A bit longer than normal but we are so excited to open again on MARCH 1. Cindy Alford, a local jeweler, will be on the portal visiting and sharing her unique pieces with all-and introducing new comers to Blue Portal. Our artists have been busy since the holiday season and have graced us with wonderful work - from humor to eclectic, beautiful, useful, imaginative...the adjectives are never enough. Hope to see you there Wed-Sat 11-4 Sundays 1-4. As a philanthropic program of the Assistance League of Albuquerque there is no tax on your purchases. Welcome back.

A 40 History

The Blue Portal Gift Shop, known as one of the prime places to shop for gifts in Albuquerque Old Town, attracts both locals and tourists. It provides a unique outlet for about 400 senior crafters and artists to show and sell their work to supplement their income.

Since its inception In 1978 at the request of the City of Albuquerque, The Blue Portal has served over 4,900 senior crafters and artists and has returned over $3.5 million to them.

All sales people are Assistance League volunteers. We charge no commission and return the full proceeds of each sale to the individual crafter or artist.

Blue Portal has been undergoing major reconstruction. We know our opening date is June 26, 2019...we have additional display space and the tools to represent our talented artists in their best light. Hours are Tues-Sat 11-4 and Sundays 1 to 4.
