Father's Day will be on Sunday 20th June. For us at MaryJo's Memory Bears, this is a specially poignant day, as it is our first year without our own beloved Dad, who was also the inspiration for our little business. We guess quite a lot of people will be missing their Dads, Grandads or father figures. If a Memory Bear would be of comfort to you or to someone you know, do get in touch.

Hi, Welcome to Mary's Memory Bears. I started making memory bears after my own lovely Dad died in November 2020. I used his old t-shirts and pajamas to make bears for his adult children (9 of us) and his 18 grandchildren. After that, it just snowballed! So many people asked me to make a bear, or more commonly a number of bears, to remember loved ones.

I make bears in a variety of sizes, from large bears what are 30 cm high (12 inches!) to small bears that are 10 cm high. They are made of 27 different parts. All kinds of fabrics can be used including very light fabrics, such as silk scarves. Fabrics are stabilized by attaching a layer of interfacing. The eyes and nose are hand-stitched and the bears are stuffed with 100% polyester, which is a safe and hygienic material. Bears are typically machine washable, but that, of course, depends on the fabrics provided.
