My ancient laser engraver is very particular and doesn't like cool temperatures or wind. I try to engrave outside to keep the dust and the smell of burning leather out of the house. I had to resort to putting a wind screen around the engraver and then it worked really well.

This little bag could become famous! Long story - in 1968, a gentleman from Lebanon had a pair of leather pants made for him. His family owned a leather business and it was all the rage to own a pair of leather pants. Well, many, many years later, the gentleman donated the pants to me so that I could make use of the leather. It is a soft pigskin which complements the oil tanned cowhide. The result was a series of small crossbody bags.

The gentleman is Dr. Wassim Salamoun who will be P.E.I.'s next lieutenant-governor. Congratulations to Dr. Salamoun - he is most deserving of this honour.

I have a cylinder arm sewing machine which has recently come in very handy for these bucket bags. It took a while for me to learn how to use it and how to thread the machine but now that I have figured out, I don't know how I managed without it. Even though we've been very busy, I had to check out the Peace Bridge which had been under renovations. Looks good and it's hard to believe that I can ride my bike at the end of November.
