I hear you- stepping out of your comfort zone can be scary. After all, we have a comfort zone for a reason...right?
As a Personal Stylist, I hear clients say this to me all.the.time :
"I never would have picked this for myself..."
And you know what else they say?
"...I love it!"
🙌🏼
Here's the thing :
When you stay in your comfort zone, day after day, year after year, you'll start to feel like you're in a rut. You get bored of the same old same old outfit, and your wardrobe just doesn't feel all that fresh, fun, or interesting.
And getting dressed just feels plain old boring.
So now you're wondering :
Why should I step out of my comfort zone?
• It's how you make your wardrobe feel fun, exciting and interesting
• Your clothes will all feel special (say goodbye to that rut and being bored with your clothes )
• You learn what you love and tap more into what your style is
• It's how you make your outfits more intentional and authentic
Step out of that comfort zone. What have you got to lose?!
And friends, I practice what I preach!
I never would have thought that I'd own wide leg, pleated, cuffed, leopard print jeans...but yet here I am, and I LOVE them!
I saw them on someone, I tried them on, and now they bring me so much joy. They're easily one of my favorite things in my wardrobe.
So, not sure where to start with stepping outside of your comfort zone?
I could do a quick course on this, but instead I've put it together for you in an easy (and free) way. Why? Because, friend, I've got you!
⭐ Want to learn more about HOW to get out of that same old rut?
👀 Want to know how liking something means that it's your style?
🐆 Want the goods on my outfit and the item that was outside of my comfort zone? (I love these leopard print pants! 🤗)

Every time you say these things about yourself, you're giving somebody else permission to say the same things about themselves.
The person in the change room next to you.
The stranger walking by.
Your friend.
Your sister.
Your partner.
Your children.
As a Personal Stylist, I hear comments like these often. But it's because someone else gave these people permission to say them...and to think that it's no big deal.
Here's what you need to know- the cycle goes like this :
From Speaking 👉🏼 To Seeing 👉🏼 To Believing
If you say it enough, you'll start to see it, and when you see it you will believe it.
Here's what you also need to know :
This cycle goes both ways- for the positive and the negative.
Rather than speaking, seeing and believing the negative. Speak, see and believe the positive and the beautiful.
When you give yourself permission to do that, you're giving others permission to do the same.
This is your permission slip to say good, positive things about yourself.
Speak . See . Believe.

Why is it that when it comes to kid's clothes we are more lenient and forgiving when it comes to what the size on the tag says, than we are with our own clothes?!
Honest to goodness, every time I take a client shopping the sizes are all.over.the.map, from xs to large for one client!
In my own closet, I have clothes that are within 5 different sizes (you bet I checked!).
So that leaves you asking 🤔
"What can I do about this??"
Answer :
1. Tell yourself : It's not me, it's the clothes!
2. Pay no attention to the letter or number on that tag. Instead pay attention to the fit! Your goal is a great fit, not a specific size.
3. When trying on clothes, if something doesn't fit, try a size up or down.
Don't just give up because it's not right, instead try again. I do this often with clients and they always say that they'd never think to try a different size, but yet that's all it takes to get the right fit!
4. Don't allow the tag on your clothes influence how you feel in your clothes, how you feel about your body, or how you feel about yourself. A tag is a flimsy, insignificant piece of fabric that has zero indication on how incredible you are!
Size standardization will never happen, but we can have mind standardization. This means that wherever you go, whatever you're wearing or whatever you try on, you are always looking at HOW it fits and IF you LOVE it!
That, my friends, is what it's all about - having clothes that we love and feel amazing in!
What have you noticed or been confused/frustrated by when shopping lately? I'll leave one of mine in the comments.
🤍 Now this is something that everyone has noticed and been affected by, so share this message & video and help alleviate some of that stress and frustration.

Did you know that the human brain is wired to prove itself right? Think about it, when you believe something to be true, you look for the proof and the evidence that your belief is true and accurate.
In many ways, this is a great and positive thing. But when it comes to your body, trying on clothes and your style, this can be very self sabotaging *especially* when it comes to changes that we've experienced with our bodies.
New, more, less or saggy lumps and bumps - we all experience these changes at some point for a variety of reasons. But rather than looking at these changes as flaws, negatives, or sources of embarrassment or shame, let's consider this :
• You are NOT defined by the tag on your clothes or the shape of your body
• Your body is strong, powerful and capable.
• You are perfect and beautiful at every and any stage of life.
• You deserve to feel incredible
• You should never settle for anything less than what makes you feel confident and amazing (yes, it's time to remove those clothes that don't fit, that are kind of ratty, and that you don't love)
Take these thoughts with you and you will find the proof and the evidence that you're right!
This is something everyone needs to hear, and this is a pep talk that I've given to both men and women clients. Pass it along, and maybe just save for the next time you need a reminder.

My chances of inheriting dad jokes are greater than my chances of inheriting Alzheimer's Disease - I just learned this mind-blowing fact a month ago, and this truth has given me so much freedom.
Here's the real fact : only 5% of Alzheimer's cases are genetically inherited. And here I've been living my whole life with the fear of Alzheimer's affecting my family again. But now I honestly feel like I can breathe for the first time in 40 years.
My Grannie first started showing signs & symptoms when she was just 50 years old, and within 3 years she no longer recognized my mom. Three years after that, I come along, and to her, I was just some little girl. When I was 13 years old and she was 69 - that's almost 20 years living with Alzheimer's - she passed away.
While this story, and so many others like it, are sad, there is hope for the future. Hope for you and me, our parents, and our kids:
We don't have to just sit back and wait in fear for brain disease to maybe or maybe not take place. We can take control to reduce our risk!
Make 2024 the year that you:
• Prioritize quality sleep
• Reduce stress (just say no to those extra things)
• Be intentional about bringing more movement into your everyday life
• Socialize! (Try asking your Dr for an Rx 😄)
Think of it this way - what's good for your heart and your body, is good for your brain!
I have learned so much from the stillme.ca website. There are helpful tools, some myth busting facts (I did these with my 11yr old), and great resources that I have really appreciated.
Let's build community, start the conversation and relieve others of the same kind of fear that I've had! Spread the word and stay tuned for more myth busting throughout Alzheimer's Awareness Month!
*As far as I know, dad jokes are not genetic...however, I believe I am proof that it just might be.

When it comes to creating that perfectly layered outfit it can be super easy, and with these tips & outfit ideas, you will nail it every time!
• Your base layer should fit close to the body to ensure that you're giving your body some shape. Adding a little tuck (full, middle or on the side of you want more coverage on your midsection) will help tremendously too!
• An open neckline is a fool-proof choice! It draws the eye up and keeps the outfit looking open and airy. Not into open necklines, don't worry! Check out some of the layering outfit ideas that I have!
• Create a waterfall to ensure the look isn't too bulky or awkward looking. This means that you go from shortest to longest, with the longest layers on the outside.
• Play around with different layering options in your outfits! Use cardigans, blazers, outerwear, collared shirts, vests, turtlenecks...it all works!
• Layered outfits with wide leg pants is such a great look! While many combinations work well, I prefer to go with shorter layers that hit somewhere between the top of the waistband and mid-bum. Doing this keeps your legs looking long and ensures you aren't adding bulk-on-bulk.
