A couple of years ago we stayed here for a few nights while we explored the different lakes and mountain/gravel biking trails in the area and it was the ideal home base! Camping down near the river was so peaceful🥰🥰

We snuck in a hike to Lillian Lake last week - and how in the world have I not done this one before?? Views, a gorgeous creek running next to the entire route, not too technical but some good huff and puff, and a lovely lake at the end to relax beside while having lunch... it was an A+day 😍😍

Gorgeous morning on Ghost Lake today😍 Pretty lucky to have some wonderful help to trust with covering things at North Campervans so I can slip away!

We have some pretty epic lakes in our backyard 😍

📷 cred goes to our rad customers Juliane and Hayden - who took a van and canoe out for an epic elopemen/ honeymoon/ holiday adventure two years ago.

When North Campervans was first started - a big goal had been to make it easy to include all the gear for experiencing your roadtrip in a different way. Whether you're just hiking a little farther, paddling to the other side of the lake, going for a bike ride, signing up for a day of rock climbing or going for the full multi day hike or paddle trip - I feel like it can add such a special feel to your trip. Adding a canoe to your campervan rental is just one way to get that experience and it definitely does add a bit of extra effort for setting up camp etc but it also let's you get a whole other perspective and experience on these lakes.

Trying to decide what style of camper is the right one for for you and your holiday?? The one you want to wake up in and relax outside of with your coffee? Big questions I'd consider would be:
1) How many people do you need to seat and sleep? And is everyone OK sleeping in different spots or needing to sleep together?
2) How much gear/ equipment are you bringing/ renting?
3) Will you be looking to camp in campsites or stealth camp?
4) What's available for the dates you're looking to travel?

Each of the different styles of campers have been used by myself and there's a lot of thought that's gone into making them comfortable sleeps, easy to cook with/ store food, and easy to drive/ setup/ utilize. That said I would recommend the Campervan for anyone who wants the ability to stealth camp and cook with extra ease anywhere, The Whatever You Want It to Be Van for anyone with extra passengers or gear, The SUV Camper for those with extra gear/ passengers that are also wanting a extra sweet ride with AWD, and The SUV Camper Mini for 1 or 2 who are wanting a glamping experience in a zippy form.

The campers with the iKamper rooftop tents give the feeling of sleeping in a cozy treehouse, the Campervan bed is extra plush and gives the ability to have seperate sleeping spaces when it's rooftop tent is added in. Have you done the bike ride into Moraine Lake? In May a sweet spot can happen where the snow is gone and the road is clear but it's not open to traffic yet. Such a fun way to experience the lake!

While snow isn't normally in the forecast - variable weather is likely when traveling in May but it's still one of my favorite times to get out there! If you're looking for a time where you can see really warm days mixed with cool ones (in my mind perfect hiking weather), less crowds, and some cost savings - May could be a great time to travel! Especially if you're equipped with the right gear to keep you cozy 😍
